A 2-Day Photography Tour: The Vortex in Gunlock & Snow Canyon State Park - Discover Southern Utah’s hidden sandstone wonders on this intimate 2-day photography tour.
Day 1 – The Vortex (Gunlock)
Hike into the stunning Red Mountain Wilderness near Gunlock to photograph the dramatic “Vortex” (also known as The Bowl)—a massive inverted sandstone cone carved by wind and water. Capture swirling patterns, dramatic light shafts, and sweeping desert vistas at sunrise and golden hour with expert guidance on composition and long exposures.
Day 2 – Snow Canyon State Park
Explore the park’s iconic red rock canyons, petrified sand dunes, lava flows, and white sandstone formations. Photograph sweeping overlooks, slot canyons, and dramatic light on the dunes during morning and sunset shoots.This small-group adventure includes expert instruction, trail access, and plenty of time to create stunning images of Utah’s unique geology.
